Our terms of service.
Last updated: June 1, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Campus AI platform and services. Please read them carefully.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Campus AI ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a university or other educational institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Eligibility & Institutional Agreements
Individual users must be at least 13 years old. Students under 18 must have parental or guardian consent, or be enrolled through a participating institution that has obtained necessary consents. Institutional customers are governed by a separate Master Services Agreement (MSA) that takes precedence over these terms where applicable. In the event of any inconsistency, the MSA prevails for institutional customers.
Account Registration & Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activity under their account. Institutions are responsible for managing their users' access and ensuring appropriate role assignments. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the acceptable use policy.
Acceptable Use & Academic Integrity
Campus AI is designed for formative, non-summative learning support. You agree to use the Platform only for lawful educational purposes. You may not: use the Platform to generate submittable assessment work that would constitute academic misconduct under your institution's policies; attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or circumvent our AI guardrails; upload malicious content or institutional data without authorisation; use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Platform; or impersonate another user. Violations may result in account suspension and referral to your institution's academic integrity office.
AI-Generated Content & Disclaimer
Campus AI uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, feedback, flashcards, quiz questions, and study materials. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for academic decisions. Educators retain full responsibility for assessing and grading student work. Students are responsible for verifying AI-generated content against authoritative sources. The Platform is designed for formative support and cannot produce submittable assessment-ready work — any attempt to use it for such purposes violates these terms.
Intellectual Property & AI-Generated Content
The Platform — including its software, AI models, design, branding, and documentation — is owned by Campus AI and protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. Content uploaded by institutions and users (course materials, drafts, study notes) remains the property of the uploading party. AI-generated content produced by the Platform is owned by the institution or user that generated it. Campus AI does not claim any ownership interest in AI-generated outputs. Institutions retain full IP rights over their content and any content generated on their behalf. No customer data is used for model training.
Service Availability & Uptime
Campus AI targets 99.9% platform uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance (notified at least 7 days in advance). We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Institutional customers should refer to their MSA for specific SLA commitments, including response times, credits, and escalation procedures. Critical incident response: 1 hour for enterprise plans, 4 hours for standard institutional plans.
Data Export & Portability
Institutions and users have the right to export their data at any time. Data export requests are fulfilled within 30 days. Upon contract termination, institutions can request a full data export of all content generated during the term. After export, data is deleted within 60 days unless retention is required by law or institutional record-keeping policy. We provide reasonable assistance with data migration to alternative platforms during the termination period.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law, Campus AI's total liability for any claim arising from the use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or interruption of service. This does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or the acceptable use policy. Institutions may terminate their agreement with notice as specified in their MSA. Upon termination, access to premium features ceases at the end of the current billing period. Data export rights as described above apply. We may retain de-identified, anonymised data for analytical purposes after termination.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms to reflect platform changes, regulatory requirements, or operational needs. Material changes will be communicated to institutions at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Institutional customers should refer to their MSA for change management provisions.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Victoria. Institutional customers may agree to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms as specified in their MSA. Nothing in these terms limits any rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
